Don't Let Yourself Be a Victim

Deadly Street Fighting Techniques - How to Defend Yourself Against a Deadly Attack
By Shane T Matthews

There are two types of people who come out of violent situations: victims and survivors.  The difference between these two?  A victim doesn't believe she or he has the power to fight back and just accepts the violence.  A survivor fights back using every available resource, knowing that the ultimate goal is to stay alive at all costs.

Imagine that you are walking back from a nice evening out with your significant other. You may be in what you think is a safe part of town, but suddenly you are attacked by a man with a gun, demanding you give him your money. What would you do?

Ultimately you would give up your money and your possessions and whatever else the attacker wants and hope he will just go away. But sometimes, these predators are out to kill. If that gun does not stop aiming at your face, you have to know how to react to save your life.

So how do you defend yourself against a violent attack? The first key is to know how to react - and that is NOT to put your hands right up in the air as soon as your attacker demands it. Once your hands are in the air and that gun is pointed at your face, any move you make to disarm him is going to increase the chances of the trigger being pulled.

You are going to need to keep your hands at your sides, and when he demands you raise them, you will immediately reach up with your hand that is opposite the one he holds the gun in. So if he is pointing a gun at you with his right hand, you will use your right hand to come straight up, grab the wrist, and maneuver the gun out of his hands.

This is not an easy technique but must be practiced carefully with a partner. You must take care when you practice this move, as the fingers can be broken if you are not careful with how you extract the gun from your partner's hand.

The good news is that deadly street fighting techniques are not hard to learn. You must know how to disarm your attacker and deliver a series of blows that will render him incapable of doing you harm, so that you can get away as fast as possible.

The key of self defense is not to perpetuate violence, but rather to take a violent situation and diffuse it as fast as possible so you can get yourself and your loved ones out of danger.
